THE WAS FOUNDED IN 1981 BY THE INTERFAITH COUNCIL OF FAITH COMMUNITIES. OUR WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE FACILITY IS LOCATED AT THE PLEASANT STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ON 61 PLEASANT STREET IN MAINE. WHILE MANY OF OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE CHURCH MEMBERS WE ARE A SEPARATE AGENCY THAT ENJOYS TREMENDOUS SUPPORT FROM THE CHURCH. ASIDE FROM A SMALL DONATION TOWARDS THE ELECTRIC BILL WE OCCUPY THE FACILITY COST FREE.

LAZY POINT FARMS UTILIZED FINDINGS FROM WORKING WITH 1 PRIVATE HATCHERY IN 2020 AND EXPANDED IT TO SUCCESSFUL COORDINATION AND COLLABORATION WITH 4 HATCHERIES ON LONG ISLAND AND HELPED PROVIDE SPOOLS TO 15 GROWERS IN FALL 2021. LAZY POINT FARMS COORDINATED MONTHLY Q and A CALLS FOR LOCAL HATCHERIES AND GROWERS AND ESTABLISHED A RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND TO PURSUE INQUIRIES REGARDING TEMPERATURE OF KELP DURING TRANSPORT. To promote mental, physical, and spiritual health and wellness utilizing by providing mental and physical health services for community clients and continuing education for clinical mental health and holistic health practitioners. Practices include, but are not limited to, Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Case Management, Chinese and Acupuncture, Energy , Vibration Therapy, Naturopathy, Herbalism, Indigenous and African Spiritual/Healing practices, Expressive and Creative Arts, and Nutrition. We train to work with various populations, especially underrepresented populations including LGBTQ+, Cognitive and Developmental Disability, Communities Color, and Trauma Survivors. Continuing education hours are available for IL LPC, LCPC, LSW, LCSW who take these trainings.
